Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is scheduled to address a charged-up workers’ convention in Sheikhupura today. Maryam Nawaz has adopted an aggressive tone in recent times, calling out Imran Khan and his supporters for the injustice meted out to her party, especially her father, in the Panama Papers case and subsequent legal battles.
Under the slogan “Bring It On,” the PML-N is positioning itself as ready to tackle any challenges thrown at them. Maryam Nawaz’s speeches have been receiving significant attention on both traditional and social media, with PML-N supporters applauding her as a bold and dynamic leader unafraid to take on her opponents.
Her opponent, Imran Khan who faces multiple legal cases, including the Toshakhana case, foreign funding case, and an alleged illegitimate daughter case, among others has been criticised for getting undue favours from the judicial setup in Pakistan.
Maryam Nawaz’s upcoming rally in Sheikhupura is expected to draw a large crowd of party supporters from across the region, buoyed by her fiery speeches and rallying cry. The PML-N has faced a challenging political climate in recent years, with several of its top leaders facing legal hurdles, including Nawaz Sharif, who is presently in exile in London.
As the countdown to Pakistan’s next general election continues, all eyes will be on Maryam Nawaz and the PML-N to see if they can translate their momentum into electoral success.
